Apartmenty Toruń

Picture
Apartments Toruń is an interesting alternative to the hotel. In Apartments Toruń there is a welcoming and convivial atmosphere, which makes you feel like home. The apartments are located in the central part of Toruń  in an historic tenement building. Each apartment consists of a bathroom with a shower, fully equipped kitchen with a dining room, and a bedroom with a king-sized bed.  All apartments have an iron, an ironing board, LCD TV-sets, air conditioning and free access to the Internet.

On the roof of Apartment’s Toruń building there is an observation deck with a mini – SPA. Guests of Apartments Torun can use the Jacuzzi free of charge and admire the beauty of Toruń Old Town at the same time.

B & B Hotel

Picture
This hotel is very modern and also very cheap (about 150PLN a night). It's situated right near the bus station and is close to town.  The rooms are small but very clean and very modern. Whilst it lacks traditional charm, it makes up for it in its great location and cheap budget!

Barbarka Forest Hotel

Picture
Fancy a break away from the hustle and bustle of the big smoke? Then this new-ish hotel deep in the Barbarka forest is the perfect place to relax. What's more...it's only 12km away from the hustle and bustle that is Toruń. Even if the hustle and bustle in Toruń is only really quite small!

Bulwar Hotel

Picture
This is one of only a few 4 star hotels. Situated by the River Vistula and close to the bridge this prides itself as probably being one of the best hotels in Toruń. Former guests include José Carreras.  It is a little too minimalist inside for my liking but it offers many comfortable rooms, a spa and sauna and most importantly a sumptuous breakfast buffet including bacon and sausagest!

Dom Turysty PTTK hostel

Picture
For those of you on a budget. It's cheap and cheerful and the interior is rather dated (note the curtains and bed covers). But for the money and location (just about a 10 min walk from the old town) you can't go wrong. The rooms are either for 2 or 4 people...and the ones for 4 are quite small. The rooms are not en-suite but there are toilets and lockable showers nearby. There is also a lounge with flat-screen TV and a fridge and microwave in case you get the munchies. Oh and did I mention the fact that there's a pub in the basement?!

Etap Hotel

Picture
The Accor Hotel group opened up this Hotel Etap 2 years ago. It is clean and modern and like B&B is a budget hotel. It's situated near the River Vistula (only 6 mins walk into town).

Next door there is an empty shell of what apparently will be a new Hotel IBIS...but it's been standing there for a couple of years...and still nothing!

Hotel 1231

Picture
On the right, stands the only remaining part of the Teutonic Castle of Toruń. The citizens pulled the castle down in disgust...and left the toilet!

On the left, is Hotel 1231, which like Bulwar is one of the few 4 star hotels in Toruń. It is situated next to a small river and mill and is a unique place to stay. Inside there is a small bar with windows overlooking the cascading mill.

Hotel Gotyk

Picture
This hotel is situated in a small street just off the main square. It's actually divided into several buildings with different entrances for the reception and the restaurant.

Hotel Filmar

Picture
This typical block hotel was recently upgraded from a 3-star to a 4-star hotel. It is located about a 5-8min walk from the old town and is one block away from Torun's police HQ (so you don't have far to go if you start misbehaving!!). It may look very clinical from the outside but inside expect good service and a range of facilities such as a hairdressers, cafe and restaurant. It's the only hotel I know in Toruń that actually has a doorman (although the doors are actually automatic!).

Hotel Heban

Picture
Located on a small street just off Ul. Szeroka Hotel Heban is a comfortable 3-star hotel. The layout of the hotel is a little unusual in that it's actually divided into 2 separate buildings diagonally opposite each other. The main reception and open plan breakfast area is in one building whilst some bedrooms are in the other building.

It's a good location as it's actually sandwiched between Tartufo for your eat-all-you-want pizza buffet and also LIGA sportclub for all your televised sport!

Hotel Pałac Romantyczny

Picture
The brand-new Pałac Romantyczny in Turzno (20km away from Toruń) is a hotel like none other. Situated in a beautifully-restored 19th century palace, the hotel offers a unique 4-star country hotel experience. Set in acres of grounds with tennis courts and a spa, the hotel was once visited by none other than Chopin!

Hotel Petite Fleur

Picture
This small and charming hotel is situated in a small street just off the main square. The rooms are small yet cosy and there is a good restaurant in the basement (though last time I checked the menu hadn't changed in over 5 years!!). The hotel offers cheaper rooms in a separate building at the other end of the street.

Hotel Polonia

Picture
This is one of the older hotels in Toruń and is situated opposite the local theatre. It has a grand facade and is something of a landmark...though it's not luxurious by any means. This is a perfectly adequate hotel in a great location.

Hotel Solaris

Picture
This 3 star hotel is actually owned by the same people as Hotel 1231. Both hotels also share the same menu in their restaurants. Solaris is less luxurious (and therefore much cheaper) than its sister hotel. In the hotel basement there is the Fashion Club (owned by Fashion TV). As the name suggests this is a bit of a pretentious nightclub but you can still have a fun night. Not sure how sound-proofed the rooms above are though!

Mercure Hotel

Picture
This was the first 4-star hotel in Toruń. It's located just outside the old town on a main road. Whilst it lacks the charm of the smaller old town hotels, Mercure makes up for it in its modern facilities and professional service. Just like any other Mercure hotel in the world.
